Christmas Classic 2011

The Scramble format tournament was played the day after we had 3 1/2 inches of rain! Cart path only deterred just a few Players. We had a great turn out and a nice day! Thanks to Mary Lou Bannon for planning our day including the Red & Green themed luncheon. From soup to dessert, it was all red and green and very festive!
Thanks to Pamela for her golf expertise with our format.
Happy Holidays to all!

Blooper

Did you ever lose a ball and think, "I know it was near this bunker!" Well this was Lois Schwinger's shot on #2 West last Thursday. It was IN the rake!
What are the chances of that happening?
Happy golfing!

Member-Guest Tournament October 17&18, 2011

Oktoberfest 2011 is in the history books! Our two day major Member - Guest was an outstanding success due to diligent preparation from Joanne Drastal and Lynne Scielzo and their able committee of Ginny Fritz, Sylvia Hollenbeck, Suzy Warren and Samantha Brantley. Their creativity and attention to detail was amazing!
Lunch was served on the terrace on Monday. A spectacular day assisted our enjoyment of golf. Dinner was at the Beach Club where we had live music and dancing and enjoyed a German themed menu including sauerbraten and wursts! The ocean view and the wine and beer drew the evening out through dusk. Tuesday arrived with threatening weather. The golf was cancelled and all came together for a yummy luncheon with pumpkin decorated tables and great camaraderie. Prizes were awarded. First place winners in the Saxony Flight were Gleith Mann, Kathy Rackley, Paula Fairley and (daughter) Allison Vartabedian. In the Rhineland Flight Linda Soud, Terry Zebouni, Yvonne Gatz and Norma Brown won. The Bavaria flight winners were Ginny Fritz, Jan Gazeley, Lynne Scielzo and Barbara Johnson.
Our thanks goes out to our terrific Food & Beverage staff, our amazing (and adorable) Golf Staff and our members who all participated with gusto and had FUN!

Solheim Cup 2011

The Solheim Cup concluded play today and the United States came out on top by the slimmest of margins!

Thanks to Billie and Colin for all your help!

Opening Day 2011

It was great seeing so many women back to playing golf with our group! We had a lovely sunny day for most of us. Some groups "enjoyed" a brief shower towards the end of their rounds. Just enough to cool you down!
Mary Lou Bannon selected a nice lunch for us to enjoy. Beth Yahara created the gorgeous scoreboard pictured above with "Back to Golf" apple theme. Greg Lecker, DOG, presented engraved crystal bowls for winning the "Play with the Pro" Tournament  to Lynne Scielzo, Diana Reek and Shirley Budden.
We are off to a great start. Enjoy the rest of our season. Remember, if you want to be a part of Team Days, generally the first Tuesday of each month, get $10 to Shirley Budden. Our 2-day Member-Guest is October 17 & 18. Sign up on ForeTees or call the Golf Shop. You may invite one or three guests to our Oktoberfest!
Check the EVENTS tab on ForeTees often and sign up for all of the events planned for your enjoyment.
