Grandmother's Tournament

Congratulations to Maudie Bongiovanni. Sawgrass CC's 2011 super duper golfing grannie!
We enjoyed a warm day with great golf and gathered on the deck to celebrate. The score board displayed pictures of grandchildren as well as a few great grandchildren. Wow!

And so ends another wonderful day at Sawgrass CC.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Our talented Club Champion played outstanding golf in the two day Handicap Tournament. She is the overall winner with a net score of 145. That is more amazing when you take in to account her handicap is 4. WOW! Good for you, SHIRLEY BUDDEN.

Mars vs. Venus

On January 30th the lovely and talented women (Venusians) took aim at their counterparts (Martians) and defeated them in a best ball tournament. Fun was had by all as this competitive event often dissolved in laughter and friendly remarks. Greg Lecker was greeting every participant on six East with his professional golf shot to the green, or surrounding area, assisting, or not, each pairing. Our event concluded at the Beach Club where out of this world decorations and food kept the great feeling going. Thanks to Lisa Williamson and John Church for hosting this event. As always, thanks to our great Golf Shop staff for all you do!

Update on our inventor friend

The Banzorb, www.BandZorb.com, wins best overall product during the UIA Awards Presentation in the Inventors Spotlight Pavillion at the 58th PGA Merchandise Show at The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA, on Thursday, January 27, 2011.
Terry Zebouni took her invention to the PGA Show in Orlando where she won the top prize for new inventions! Congratulations, Terry!
Helping her at her booth during the show are Susan Cruickshank and Kathy Church. What a thrill!

Congratulations to all involved in the Cancer Tournament

Deb Douglas and Nancy Kaufman deserve credit for an amazing event that raised money for The Wolfson Children's Hospital and for Rally for the Cure.

Here are some snap shots of the evening event.
These are some of our members who have personally battled with cancer.

Have you met him yet?

Our Director of Golf, Greg Lecker, has been present and welcomed by all who have had the pleasure to meet him. If you wish to read more about him, go to our Sawgrass web site and click on amenities (top of the page) and golf and you find an article about Greg.
He came to our Annual Cancer Tournament and introduced us to his wife, Kerry. If you were at the Mars vs. Venus dinner on 1.30.11 you got to meet her up close and personal! She has returned home to Pennsylvania to be with their three daughters. They will all be here after school is out for the summer.
Be sure to take some time to introduce yourself and get to know Greg. He is a terrific addition to our Sawgrass community family.
