January began warm and sunny. The Polar Plunge was fun and the water was tolerable!
Then Winter arrived with cold temps and high winds. Our Team Day on Jan 3 was cancelled.
What a difference a week makes! The opening day of our two day Ringer Tournament was nice and sunny. The next Tuesday was also delightful! Congratulations to Marge Monteith, overall winner and to all who participated. It was fun to improve your score!
On Jan 24 we played Match vs Par. We had six flights of players. We played until nearly dark as we were using afternoon tee times thinking January would be cold. Well, it was near 70 degrees! The long range forecast is for our warm weather to continue, so we are going to morning tee times in February. This allows us to schedule tee times off of two nines and we will all be in at a reasonable time and can enjoy lunch together again.
I am looking forward to Mars vs. Venus this Sunday. Samantha has been beating the bushes to get everyone out to play. She has done a great job, as 116 players are registered for the event.
On Tuesday, Jan 31 we have our much anticipated Cancer Tournament. Suzanne and Ann have been working diligently to organize this important event. I anticipate a wonderful afternoon and evening supporting Wolfson Children's Hospital and Rally for the Cure.
