Welcome to the Sawgrass Women's Golf Association Blog

Membership in Sawgrass Women’s Golf Association’s (SWGA) 18-hole group is open to women who are members in good standing of Sawgrass Country Club with golf privileges and have an established handicap of 36, or better, for 20 posted 18 hole rounds with scoring activity posted within the previous 12 months.

After paying annual dues a member is eligible to compete in scheduled play days and/or tournaments and competitions and win prizes.

We welcome new members at any time of the year. Our season runs from September to May with additional summer activities. Please approach any member

of the Golf Staff to assist you in joining our fun and active golf group.

Getting Ready for Our New Season 2011 - 2012

September 13 - Welcome Back Tournament
                                A step-aside scramble format with pairings by computer. Open to all women who are      members in good standing at Sawgrass CC with golfing privileges.


September 20 - Opening Day with Luncheon
                               Make your own foursome or Golf Shop will pair you.

September 27 & 29 - Solheim Cup
                               Sign up with a partner or Golf Shop will pair you. Day one is Captain's choice for nine holes and Alternate shot for nine holes. Day Two is Better Ball of Partners.

October 4 - SWGA Team Day - Bring $10.00 to the Opening Day Luncheon to give to Shirley Budden for the Team Day season. You will be assigned to a team and you will then sport a color! Go Teams!

October 17 & 18 - Women's Two Day Member Guest Tournament
                                Invitations will soon be in the mail to you! Get your guest (or guests- up to three) excited about coming to our Octoberfest event! Reservations will be limited, so sign up and don't miss this top-notch experience! All new and original!


November will have our Member/Member Tournament on the 8, 10 & 11th days. Choose a partner or the Golf Staff will assist you. Our Senior Club Championship will be on the 15 & 17th. Sixty five years or older as of 11/15/2011.

December 13 - Christmas Tournament and Luncheon.

January 10 & 17 - Ringer Tournament
January 31 is our amazing Cancer Fundraiser Tournament and dinner

Plan ahead and join in on all of our festivities! Many people do much work and planning to give you the opportunity to participate. Don't disappoint them or yourself... come and play!!!!
